The Consultation
I will ask you about your current symptoms and medication, medical history, lifestyle and diet. You may also receive a physical examination if
appropriate. Because of the unique method of diagnosis in Chinese Medicine, I will also take your pulse at both wrists and look at your tongue.
Agreeing a treatment
plan
I will explain your condition from a Chinese Medicine point of view, how often you should come and how many treatments you may need. Treatments may be once or twice weekly to begin with and then less frequent as you
improve. You may be asked to make some lifestyle or dietary changes if these would enhance your improvement.
Acupuncture
treatment
Very fine needles are inserted at specific acupuncture points, and may be left in for up to twenty minutes while you relax.
All the needles are single use, sterile and disposable, and the technique is very gentle. After treatment it is better not to undertake strenuous activity for the rest of the day. |
